Advice on RSP 976

Has there been comparisons on the 976 vs RSP 1066. Has anyone traded up to the 1066 from the 976, if so, what were the improvements over the older model. Have there been any issue with the 976 that I should be aware about, also, likes and dislikes.
One additional question: Is anyone using an RB985 MKII, and how does it compare with the RMB1075. Please advise
I am saving up for some main B&W speakers and would like to continue to build my ROTEL gear out, possible on the S/H market, I have an RB991 and fully enjoy it

I own a rb985MkII. I have had the oppertunity to compare it to the 1075.

Unless you drive the 985 very hard, there is hardly any difference. Only on very high volumes, the 1075 seems a bit sweeter, and more powerfull. Probably due to the better power unit in the 1075.

I have looked at the 976 at that time. I have not had the chance to compare them, but it seems that the 1066 is a step above the 976 especially in Stereo.

Other features missing from the 976 compared to the 1066 :

Not software upgradable
No 6.1/7.1 DD-EX/DTS-ES
No DPL-II

I would go for a RB-985/RSP1066 combo.
save the money on the amp and spend it on the pre-amp
