    12 Volt Trigger Cable

What cable if any comes with the Rotel amps or preamps to trigger the amp on and off? If none is included with the amp or pre, where can you get an appropriate cable from the 1056 receiver to the Rotel amp? :P

    Shadow,

You need a 3.5mm Mono (NOT stereo) audio cord - they sell them at Radioshack etc for about $2-$3 depending on lengthl.

I have my 1095 triggered through my reciever. Is it ok to leave the amp in standby, or is it more susceptible to power surge damage than switching it off?

Although a stereo cable works fine, if you have one laying around. Otherwise just invest in a mono cable.

On another note, I have an opportunity to get a nice B&K amp for a great price, but it uses RCA on the 12 volt input. Does anyone including the Shack make a hybrid cable with 3.5 mm mono on one end and RCA on the other?

You should be able to find one at most electronic stores.

This is what you are after?

                  Hello,

I've got a (high end) HTPC and asked the manufacturer to place a 12 volt outlet on the HTPC to trigger the Rotel amp.

I tried it and it worked, but then I restarted the HTPC and it failed. So it worked a couple of times and then it went dead.

                  I opened...

Frank, you asked a question regarding the 1098 12v triggers and I answered the following. Haven't seen you around since. Did you tested it?

                  by BeeBop
I have an external amp I would like to use with my RX1050 stereo receiver - using the RX1050 as a pre-amp. I am using the pre-out to connect it to the amp and it is working well. However I cannot get the 12 volt trigger to work. Does anyone know what sort of plug the 12 volt trigger out requires? My...
