Does any of the Rotel processors have EQ capability?

I have the RSP1066 and would like to further EQ my individual speakers in a 5.1 setup. I've went in the setup menu, but didn't see a EQ section. The remote does have a Cinema EQ option, what does it do to the speakers exactly? I've noticed that it does sound a bit more flat with the EQ, but I'd like a more accurate EQ tuning for my speakers. Does any of the newer Rotel Pre's like the 1068 and 1098 have the capability to EQ speakers more flat?

Aside from separate bass/treble on all channels, no. Any reason you're wanting to EQ your speakers flat? Without an RTA meter, 31 bands per channel, and some training; you're only going to do harm. If you're un-happy with your setup, try changing speaker placement, speakers, or equipment. An EQ is not designed to overcome any of that.

Cinema-EQ is a THX-esque filter that applies a high frequency roll-off to all channels to fix DVD's that were not re-mixed for home use (some rare these days).

New 803D's Break in period? Seem flat.
      by renzo
played my new 803D's for approx. 50-60 hours. I noticed that 2 channel stereo music using my Rotel 1098 and 1095 sounds somewhat hollow and flat. Are the speakers too revealing? Does it take longer to break them in? How much impact does a good DVD player have on the quality of the sound? I have...

I'm starting to get that itch again. You know... the upgrade itch...

I've been reading the manuals for processors and so far I have looked at the Anthem AVM 30, both Arcams, and the Halo C2. If I upgrade my current Denon 3805 I will also need a tuner.

      I would like to...

      Wooooooow !

That's it ! As some of you may know I was going out to find a nice 5.1 set. What I found on my search was not what I expected. I did not know surround can be so realistic.

My dogma is flat. It needs some air....
      by Branwell
Seems a given that because of the way we hear relative to SPL ( Fletcher Munsen / Robertson Dadson ), combined with playback technology and the listening rooms effect on reproduced sound, recorded music played through speakers with a flat measured frequency response is almost guaranteed to sound wrong....
