1068 Restart??

Hello All,

I zapped my 1068 by touching it tonight. The electricty from my body zapped the system. I unplugged the 1068 but the same problem arises. Everything works for the remote but nothing works if I'm not using the remote. Power button, change inputs nothing. Also the blue stand-by light is off also. HELP!

I'm a little confused, is it currently working or not? Or is just the front panel buttons not working?

As far as static shocks, you need to be careful in cool dry weather to touch something else grounded before touching any part of your system. Or you can run a humidifier to lesson the chance of static charges building up.

Yikes...I did the same thing to my 1068 on a couple of occasions.This time of year,plus my leather seating in my basement and I have to be very careful.

The first time I did it,all settings were knocked out...but I restored them all and the unit was fine.The second time everything worked afterwards except the power button.
Mine will now only turn on by remote or touching one of the buttons on the unit,and will only turn off with the remote.

Sadly it sounds like you fried something greater than I did,and a trip to the shop is needed.Good luck....

OK now!!!!

I contacted my local dealer (Worldwide Sterio), and they instructed me to keep the unit unplugged for 1 hours. It was unplugged for 3 hours & everything is back to normal. The remote will be used from now on.

Never heard that one before ?

Was any explanation given as to why it had to be unplugged for an hour ?
