I'm finally an official member of club rotel

    my RSP-1068 and RMB-1075 came today ;b>

a few questions though i am sure there will be more in the next few days

anyway i am using the 12v trigger when i turn the unit off is it normal to see all the red protection lights light up on the RMB-1075 i see a few light up when i turn it on as well i assume this is normal.

next question is setting up using a SPL meter what volume do i set the 1068 do i just run the test and turn up each speaker untill it reads 75db i think the default test tone is 30db acording to the the book. i am a bit confused

    thanks thats all for now

Allow for some break-in time before you start calibrating. Maybe a couple of weaks.

Yes, red protection lights are normal when using turning it on.

I usually set the unit to volume 75, and then set all speakers to 75. Sub I typically set to 85 but feel free to play around with that one.

It's all relative since the volume scale isn't linear or based on a DB scale.

Hold down mute for about 3-5 seconds. From the remote or front panel.

Allow at least 5 months for breaking them in . And , by the way,Deafult 30db is normal and you can set to 75db if you want ,but let some time for the breaking- in. They will sound better after time.
                Good Luck!

That's correct. You can follow the procedure on Rotel's site, but grab 1.2.5 from the sticky at the top of the forum. Lot's of fixes and updates you need to get!

As far as the trigger, it's tied in after the blue light. So the amp is still shut-off using the trigger, the only extra power draw is the light.

It's a special pinout on the cable, so you can't use a standard ethernet cable with an RJ45 to DB9. The 1068 should have come with one, can you contact the previous owner and see if you can get it? Rotel sells them for $15 or so.

Can you mess it up? Sure. Likely? No. Just follow the procedure and stop if anything doesn't match up. You can revert, but if it's done right you shouldn't want to.

You can contact Rotel to get a replacement. The EPROM cable is part #CB00004 and it cost $12.00 U.S. back in September.

My protection lights never come on. I have a 1080, and a 1075 hooked up
to the 1068. When my installer hooked up my system he used the 12 volt triggers.

I had asked this question a while back. I was wondering why the lights on the amps never went out, but I never see the protective lights light up when when I shut down the 1068. The response I got was that it is normal for the amp lights to stay on, but that there was an internal switch that puts
the amps in standby. Never a mention about the protective lights flashing.
Am I missing something? thanks for any info.

Pull the trigger cable with the system on. You should be able to audibly hear the relays click off. You have looked to make sure they flipped the trigger switch on right?

I've seen the lights come on for various amounts of time. From a quick flash to a couple of seconds. I suppose it's possible some don't flash at all.

Well if you get antsy and did try it with a wrong cable, you would either:

Not get the correct feedback display, where you would know to stop.
Not get any data to the 1068, where you couldn't even select you want to do an update
                                              Or Both

So no real harm in the wrong cable, just frustration in re-pinning.

i figured $14 US or risk having to buy a new processor i would feel like a real ass if it was over a $14 dollar cable i will wait.

Hey guys, so this has happened in the past. ( I drop an RCA cable and it falls on the positive/negative speaker terminals, I curse myself and then replace the fuse kinda thing) This time though, no such easy resolution. I come back from vacation just 2 days ago. The power had gone out a few days earlier,...

I've currently got an RMB1075 and an RSP1066 with Definitive Technology speakers. I've ordered some new towers for the main L/R (Def Tech 7001SC's) which should be a considerable upgrade from my current towers (Def Tech ProTower 400's). I am going to move my ProTower 400's to the rear.

                                                  As the topic says...

Is it possible to bi-amp RMB1075 with zone 2?

I have RSP1068/RMB1075 kombo and i have connected Front Left/Right as usual... but what happens if i connect zone 2 Left/Right output to RMB1075 Left/Right surround and bi-amp the speakers?
