    Changing 1098's Inputs.

My dealer mentioned in theory becuase of the way the inputs are linear on the 1098 you can remove/change some ofthe boards.

    Has anyone does this?

Would it be possible to, say, remove the S Vid board and replace it with an additional set of Multi Inputs?

No. While the cards are removeable, they all have to be in their same place.

So really Rotel's whole modula system is a complete crock! When I come to replace the 1098 (funds allowing) I wont be looking at Rotel as they are always more than a few months behind everyone else, with the same quality

so just curious. What is the point of removable cards if they cant be switched?

Ease of diagnosing and repairing problems and the ability to update individual cards as needs arise. I know the DSP board has been updated with better shielding to help with some center channel noise. After replacing a 1068's DSP board on-site, I'll gladly take a card solution.

Certainly. Judging from the firmware you started from you probably have the older board. Rotel should be able to see from the serial number.

good to know. So if I call rotel and tell them the number they can send out the board? Is it an install I can do myself?

Yup, remove two screws, swap boards, reinstall two screws.

I'm sure there's an internal part number, but I wouldn't know it. It's covered as a warranty piece, shouldn't cost you or your dealer anything.

I thought I'd start a thread asking members what they'd like to see changed in the Rotel 1066. Since its upgradable maybe we can get Rotel to implement some of our requests for the next firmware upgrade. I'll keep editing this post with all the latest requests...

                        1) I'd like to be able...

                        Hello!

This forum has been extremely helpful to understand many features of my 1066. Now an ignorant newbie question. I went to do my first firmware upgrade per the instructions posted and was a bit stumped when looking for the panel to remove.

                        Do you have to unscreww...

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now since I picked up a 1068 and the amount of info is great. I've been overwhelmed with the quality of sound and have had no problems with the unit minus one.

Once the unit and amp are powered on and for instance it turns on in Video1, I then...

I'm looking to buy an lcd widescreen tv for under $1000, preferably with 720p display capability.

I noticed that changing channels at the Best Buy (the ones out on the shelves that appear to only be connected to coax cables [is is still digital feed]...not the component connected ones...

1068: Problem switching between progressive inputs
                        by McLovin
                        G'day,

I am having an issue with my RSP-1068 and progressive scan inputs.

I have three video input devices hooked up to the 1068: a set-top box, a DVD player, and an Xbox (on V1, V2, and V3 inputs respectively). The 1068 is then connected to my TV (a Sony LCD). All inputs...
