1068: Problem switching between progressive inputs

    G'day,

I am having an issue with my RSP-1068 and progressive scan inputs.

I have three video input devices hooked up to the 1068: a set-top box, a DVD player, and an Xbox (on V1, V2, and V3 inputs respectively). The 1068 is then connected to my TV (a Sony LCD). All inputs are progressive scan and using component, and I had the progressive scan settings of the 1068 set to "ALL" inputs. I could switch inputs on the 1068 without problems.

But just the other day something went haywire: whenever I switch inputs, the screen rolls. I set the DVD player back to interlaced, and the progressive scan settings back to V1+V3. Now I can swich between V1 and V2, but V3 always rolls. I need to reset the TV so that it can sync to the 1068's output correctly. If I switch back to V1 from V3, then V1 rolls.

If I swap cables around (so that the Xbox is now V1 and the STB is now V3), then I get the opposite problem: I can get the Xbox display fine on V1, but switching to V2 or V3 causes the picture to roll.

I connected the STB and Xbox output directly to two component inputs of the TV, and I can switch between them no problems. But when I go through the 1068, then I can't switch between them.

So ... I dunno what is going on here. Everything was working fine until the weekend, but now I can't switch between progressive inputs via the 1068. I'm not sure if this indicates an issue with the TV or the 1068.

    Any suggestions?

What firmware are you running? (hold down mute). There was an issue with the progressive setting at one point, but I thought it was just with initial turn-on.

Any power issues over the weekend? Lightning or otherwise? Might have scrambled the memory settings. You might want to write down all your settings and do a factory default. If you're at an older version of firmware you might as well upgrade since you have to do a factory default anyway.

Are you running NTSC or PAL?

I have a Xbox 360 connected via optical to my rsp-1068.
After a few minutes of use, a hum appears in all channels.
swithing source (cd/tape/dvd) makes no difference. The hum stays.

RSP-1068 standby mode & optical input glitches

I upgraded my hifi gears to Rotels in June. The RSP-1068 was an obvious choice and tested it with RMB-1075 amp too. However the RMB-1075 and my speaker setup (Amphion Argon 2) didn't bring the same feel of sensation as Genelec active speakers, so my RSP-1068 is now connected to a nice set of Genelec...

      RSP-1068 video quality problems

      G'day,

I think the video handling of my Rotel RSP-1068 pre/pro is acting up,

I've got an old TV, which only accepts composite input, and is non-progressive. I've got a set-top box connected via composite to Video 1, a VCR connected via composite to Video 3, and a DVD connected...
