Panel on 1066 to Remove for upgrade

    Hello!

This forum has been extremely helpful to understand many features of my 1066. Now an ignorant newbie question. I went to do my first firmware upgrade per the instructions posted and was a bit stumped when looking for the panel to remove.

Do you have to unscreww the screws in the back and then lift off what would appear to basically be the top and front? Can the panel be removed without disconnecting my inputs? Where are the dip switches once you remove the appropriate panel?

Thanks for your help in advance

    Welcome to the forum Sindel.

No, don't do that, although many have made the same mistake. Look at the back panel in the upper right quadrant. See the component video inputs? Directly to the left, there is a small rectangular cover with "Software Upgradable" written above it. That's your baby.

I thought I'd start a thread asking members what they'd like to see changed in the Rotel 1066. Since its upgradable maybe we can get Rotel to implement some of our requests for the next firmware upgrade. I'll keep editing this post with all the latest requests...

life with rsp 1068 vs 1066 vs 1098
        by rosros
In feb I had a chance of comparing side by side the rsp 1098 with the rsp 1066. at the time, I was thinking about upgrading from the 1066 to the 1098. the rsp 1098 was a loaner from my rotel dealer. I had the 1098 for one week. Although the 1066 is a wonderful unit, for my usage, ultimately, it was...

Set to make a purchase of a 1066, Is the BM fix in the 1066 same as 1055? Help!

I know this subject has been beaten to death but here it is again.
I'm planning on getting a demo 1066 tomorrow, I know that the 1066 has been replace by the 1068, but Dolby Prologic IIx doesn't do anything for me since I'm running 5.1. I will be doing the bass management fix for the 1066 and...

        1066 vs 1068 Initial Impression
        by Stevebez
Just got the RSP1068 in UK and took me not more than 1 hour to setup and plug it all in. Very easy to use and has substantial additional functionality over the 1066 that is practically usefull and they should be complimented on not just adding gimmicks all over the shop.

        The passage...
