strange noise from RB 1070

    strange noise from RB 1070

    I notice a strage noise about 5 seconds after I power down my system, like a high pitched whistle that lats about 3 - 4 seconds, decreasing in frequency. It seems to be coming from my RB 1070. Has anyone else experienced this??
    The amp seems to be working fine.

      Sounds like a capacitor draining down. I would have it checked out, but you could certainly run it until it quits.

          Is there any danger of it damaging the connected speakers? Could it affect sound quality?

              I was fiddling with speaker cables behind my B&W 704, and I saw blue spark heard a loud popping noise 8O . It must have been a major arching since it even left a mark on the banana jack. I'm not sure one of the wires actually touched a terminal or not. Anyway, the speaker (right front) went dead....
