    Problems with 1055

For some strange reason I now have to go to input #1 on the receiver to get a picture then switch to input #5 to get sound and a picture. If I start out on input #5 I will get the audio but not a picture. This only started about a week ago. Prior to this everything was coming up on input #5.There were no wiring changes done, and this system has been in operation for approx. 3 months. What gives ??

Are you talking about the RSX1055? If so, you've been using it only for 3 months? I also own a 1055, but never came across anything like this before. Why don't you send it in to Rotel for a checkup?

Yes it is the RSX-1055. The receiver is about 2 years old. I moved and hooked it up in the new house about 3 months ago with no problems until now.

I would write down all you settings then do a factory default. Is it just the first time you turn on? IE after you get s&v on 5, can you go to input3 then back to input5 and still be good?

It happens all the time, not just when I first turn it on. Yes if I go to input 3 it will still show the picture but no audio. When I go back to input 5 I have both again.

So doing a factory default didn't change anything?

                RSX-1055 input advice needed
                by Ijon_Tichy
                I have a RSX-1055 (w/ bm fix) and a RMB-985mkII.

I want to connect a Perpetual Technologies P1A/P3A DAC to the RSX.

How can I do this without the RSX adulterating the analog from the P-Tech's DAC?

The RSX-1055 doesn't have a 'direct' or 'bypass' mode like...

                1055 - Stand-by Mode
                by Poul
Since purchasing the 1055 I occasionally have problems powering up the unit from stand-by mode. Pressing the POWER button on the remote has no effect and only works after powering down and up using the button on the 1055.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

                Regards

RSX-1055 - how hot does yours get?
                by simonb68
Hi, I sent this email to Rotel support a while back and have not seen a reply, but I get a lot of spam so may have deleted it by mistake. Anyway I thought I'd run it past you guys to see if your units run as hot.

                Hello all,

Have been lurking through various HT forums for some time but new to Club Rotel. I have learnt much and have improved my system greatly with the advice I've learnt. However, I am looking to upgrade within a limited budget, and a limited physical space and wish some advice....

                Rotel 1055 shutting down
                by Neal_C
I can't figure this one out.

My 1055 will randomly shut down right after being turned on (after 15 seconds or so, no real definite time reference) and may do so several times before staying on with no problems afterwards. Really weird.

I use it as a pre-amp hooked up to...
