    Another Sub/Rotel Question

I've been thinking of adding a sub since my floor standing speakers are only 50Hz-20KHz +/- 3dB. But, I want to keep playing my CDs in Bypass mode. I think I understand that there's a way you can "cheat" and connect the analog connects to the L and R of the 7.1 inputs. However, it's a bit more complicated for me because I have a turntable connected to a phono preamp connected to the 1068.

Is there any way for me to integrate a sub and be able to play my CDs and LPs in Bypass mode?

The absolute easiest way for you, since you don't have a sub now, is to make sure whatever sub you purchase has speaker level inputs and outputs.

That way you run the speaker leads to the sub, and then out to the speakers. Set your front speakers to LARGE and sub to NONE. This will use the sub with your front speakers, even in all bypass modes.

      Thanks Kevin.

Any idea which subs I should be looking into that have speaker level in/out? I know nothing about subs as I've never owned one, although I know Velodyne and Rel are popular names. I'd be willing to spend between $1000-1500.

      Thanks.

I was running a Velodyne SPL 1200R with my Signature 805s and was very happy with the set up. You should be able to get one for around $1,300 if you shop around.

          Hey gang,

I have the 1068/1075 combo as well as a pair of Linn Ninka speakers. The sound is very nice, except for one thing: I'd like more bass. The frequency response for the Ninkas in passive mode is only 50Hz-20Khz, so I assume this isn't quite a full range floor standing speaker....

          RSP-1098 2CH sub output.
          by Jason Brown
While playing CDs and switching between bypass and stereo using the "2CH' button on the remote, I get no output from my subwoofer when in stereo mode. I can't figure out why this is. The sub box is highlighted on the display and the sub itself works fine in Dolby Digital from the DVD player, but...

I auditioned JL Audio E110 sub and my questions about E110,E112,subwoofers in general
          by AwArEnEsS
I have listened to JL audio E110 at an audio shop, in another city. The reason why I want a sub is mostly feeling the sound at my body, gut especially , also hearing the lower frequencies which my speakers(or any other speaker) can't give.

When we arrived,I asked the sales person if we...

          SSP-300 bypass / sound modes
          by weijst
Recently I contacted Classe to ask about a 'source direct' or 'bypass' mode on the SSP-300. I was informed that the 7.1CH analog inputs are the SSP-300’s only bypass inputs and if these were used by for instance a blu-ray player I could no longer bypass other input signals.

          I'm planning...

I have spoken with Behringer and they have shown serious interest in designing a replacement for the BFD that is more suited to the consumer market. As many of you may already know... the DSP1124 has been discontinued. The replacement FBQ2496 only offers 1 preset and still doesn't get us many of the...
