    Bi-Amping of RB-1080

This is like rocket science to me.

Can anyone offer 'HOW-TO' please? Line diagram will certainly be most appreciated.

You can't biamp with just one stereo amp, unless you dig mono

Maybe he's bi-amping the centre like I do. Basically take the bar out between the posts of your speaker(s) and run to seperate cables between the the speakers and the amp, then use an RCA splitter between the source/pre-amp and power amp to provide the same signal to both channels. Mayby somewone else can attach a link to a relevant diagram

Also don't expect much if any improvement in sound quality unless your bypassing the passive filter in the speakers and running an active filter prior to amplifiaction.

        Shadow,

I have one RB-1080, and I am thinking of getting another one.

        JDH,

I am a 2-channel man. Can I use RB-1080 as a monobloc? (Of course it takes two to stereo :W )

The RB-1080 can't be bridged into a larger single channel power amp, like say the smaller RB-1070, probably not ideal even if it could as it will also result in greater destortion too. What speakers are you intending to use with the RB-1080. Sometimes its better to simply sell off the RB-1080 and buy say the RB-1090 or similar higher performance power amp.

              RB991/RB1080 for Dyn Audience 82
              by Belgarath99
              Hi

I have heard that this is the best forum to talk Rotel.

I am thinking of buying an used Rotel RB991 to add to my HT setup. I will use the pre-out of my Denon AVR 3805 to connect to the power amp to drive my Dynaudio Audience 82 speakers.

              I have heard comments...

              Rb1080 trade-up to RB1090
              by AA6US
I recently bought an RB1080. My speakers are 2.5 ohms, and I have to put a 200W non-inductive resistor in series with one side of the speaker cable to bring it up to 6.5 ohms, which the RB1080 handles just fine (It did NOT like 2 ohms and now I see in the specs the RB1080 works only down to 4 ohm, not...

              rotel - biamping
              by radim
Which of these mix are best for biamping in this price category ?
One 1075 is basic. Biamping for main speakers - of course for stereo.

              1. 1075 + 1075
              2. 1075 + 2 x 1070
              3. 1075 + 1090 (no biamping)

              biamping
              by swayback
Just received my 804's but have not hooked them up yet. I'm contemplating biamping them versus single wiring. Does anyone have an opinion on biamping? I've read in multiple posts that biwiring doesn't do much in terms of an audible difference but biamping can due to isolated current to the high and...

              Biamping Biwiring my B&W 603 S3?

              Hi,

I have a set of 703 s3's and a Harmon / Kardon amp with 4 sets (2 pairs) of outputs... is there likely tobe any advantage in removing my speakers binding posts and using both sets of outputs?

Is this likely to damage my speakers? Will the crossover attached to the...
