    rotel - biamping

Which of these mix are best for biamping in this price category ?
One 1075 is basic. Biamping for main speakers - of course for stereo.

    1. 1075 + 1075
    2. 1075 + 2 x 1070
    3. 1075 + 1090 (no biamping)

There's no quick, easy answer for this. The two 1075's would likely bennefit you more for home theatre (as you'd bi-amp all 5 channels) or you could bi-amp your mains and centre than have 1 channel each left for surrounds and back speakers in a 7.1 configuration. Based on your post I'm assuming you're doing 7.1...?

Really, from what I've gleaned regarding bi-amping, it depends a lot on your speakers and their crossover and the related power requirements for the speakers tweeter and midrange driver vs the bass driver. For example, speaker "A" might be designed with the power requirements being 40% to the tweeter/midrange and 60% to the woofer. Speaker "B" might be designed with an even 50% going to the tweeter/mid and woofer. In the case of speaker "A" the ideal bi-amping would utilize say a 120W amp for the tweeter/mid and a 180W amp for the woofer. Speaker "B" would work best with two amps of the same wattage or two channels of the same amp. Your best bet here is to email tech support for your speaker manufacturer and ask them for the information regarding your particular models.

As good as bi amping can be I'd take option 3 any day. There's nothing like a massive 2 channel amp to make speakers sing...esp something as monsterous as the 1090:drool:

True Andrew, I think most of us would be quite happy with any of the options... but a 1090 would be nice :P ...lol Though I wonder what 2-1080's bi-amped vs 1-1090 would sound like..... 8O I think radim need to get his dealer to bring all the equipment home for a comparison and get back to us!

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer
            by theSven
            By Jon Hancock

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...

            Biamping with RMB-1075?
            by jorgjean
I'am planning to bi-amp my speakers KEF XQ5. They would receive power from an RMB-1075. Has anybody got experience with this vertical biamping. Will there be differences in the output level of low-and high frequencies as the resistance will be different?

How about linking 2 Channels to...

Hi folks, I just got the Rotel 1075 amp to run my new speakers (Polk LSi15). I really like the looks of the Rotels line and tehy get good reviews. I have it hooked up to the Polks which are 4 Ohm speakers that sound great. I am running a Harman AVR 230 as pre/pro. I have the system BI-AMPed with...

anybody actively biamping 804 or 803?
            by Horacio
I'm looking into actively biamping my stereo setup, meaning adding an active crossover after the preamp so to send just 350 Hz and up to a tube amp and into the mid/hi posts in my 804S, send only 350-50 Hz to a SS amp and into the woofer posts in the 804S, and send up to 50 Hz to my REL Storm III sub...

            Rotel 1095 Amps & B&W802 = biamping make a difference?
            by jazznsoccer
            Hi All,

I demo'd B&W speakers and settled on the 802's (higher up was beyond my point of pain for speakers). I really liked the 802's over the 803. Alll tests were done using the Rotel RMB-1095.

I've heard that most people would suggest getting a better amp, but there...
