    2 questions regarding video out

To keep it simple, let's say I got a DVD player and a TV box all hooked up through component cables to my RSP1098. From the 1098 component out to a projector. What's the easiest way of adding a plasma TV to the 1098 (so that I can switch between projector or TV). There is only one component out..?!

what exactly is video switching? Is it S-video or composite in, and component out? My receiver didn't have this feature. So I assume that's what it is.

Video 'switching' simply means having multiple sources in to your receiver, and one out. The switching part is when you choose the source on your receiver, and the proper signal is sent (as opposed to selecting a different input on your tv, for example).

Video 'upconversion' is when you can have a lesser video source input (e.g., composite or s-video) and your receiver can output that same signal via component video (or hdmi) outs.

You can buy a component video distribution amp for about the same price as a DVD player. But then you are stuck having the same thing on both TV's.
