Hello. I have the Rotel 1055 and planning to add a front projector tv to my home theater room. Due to the distance of the projector from my equipment rack, I think that using the component video switching in the 1055 is the best way to go. However, Im a little concerned if doing so will be detrimental to the picture quality versus hooking it straight from the source. I plan to add a dish network hd receiver in the future so this would save me the time and expense of adding a two component wires. What do you guys think? Am I better off just running it straight to the source or would I be ok doing component switching? Thanks guys.
Component video switching. Good or bad?

Any additional cables or connections in anything will VERY slightly degrade any signal. For the ease of running only one wire to your projector however.... I doubt you'd even notice a difference. Just make sure you use good quality cables. Check out the link below for Cat Cables, they make awesome gear at reasonable prices. :T

Jason's right any break in the signal route will degrade the signal...but its typically very minor and the convienience is almost always worth it.- Bottom

by lusichHello,
I purchased my 1055 this past December, and it is a version 2.2.6 unit. I like it quite a bit (remote control notwithstanding), but have had a couple video passthrough issues. In particular:

by Dave DHi all,
Does anyone know of a way to get S-video AND component video signals out of an Xbox? I know you can purchase S-video OR component video cables, but I'm not aware of anything that does both concurrently.
Unfortunately, I need S-video for the TV and component for...-
