Just got the new rdv 1092

Just got the new 1092 dvd player. The sound is great. The picture is not as good as I was hoping for. I am using the 1080 i output. Does anyone know if there is a way to tweak the picture or does the unit need time to "break in"? I am running a new Sony 60 inch rear projection LCOS tv.

Try 480p or 720p instead. The RDV1092 de-interlacer (i to p) looked great to me. Most TV's will scale well to their resolution.

Literally just got back from an audio shop here in London where I had a small demonstration of the 1092. The HD resolutions all looked the same to me, but then again they plugged them into smaller HDTV's 27" - 40". I believe the picture quality will be better on screens of 100" through a dedicated pj.

Any trick to keep HDMI connection on RDV-1092?
        by Vicente
As a new owner of RDV-1092, I've been tweaking, comparing picture quality thru component and HDMI outputs, but had some hard times trying to switch from one to the other and back.

I have my Mitsubishi HC3000 projector connected with both connections to the rdv-1092 and if I switch the...

Class D amps, RDV-1092 power supplies
        by gianni
With all the discussion here recently regarding the RB-1091/92 and now the interest in the RDV-1092, I find one aspect curiously absent from these discussions: nobody has mentioned the fact that the RDV-1092 uses a switching power supply just like the class D amps. No more torroid.

        I...

        Impressions of Rotel RB-1092
        by metallo
Last weekend I received a RB-1092 that had been used for demo for a price I couldn’t resist, I originally was looking for a RB-1090 but after reading 3 professional reviews (plus reviews of bel canto ref-1000 and other Class D – “manufacturers” with ice) and reading the impressions from users...

RDV 1060 vs the Denon 3910 and the 1092
        by Boone38
I just made a mistake, I think. I sold my RDV 1060 and was thinking of getting a better DVD player. The timing may not be the best with the new formats not yet on the market.

I read a review on Hometheaterhifi.com and it lists about every player but the Rotel. The Denon 3910 was scored...

        Region free RDV-1092 ?
        by mlunde
        Hi,

I'm looking for some help in regards to unlocking an RDV-1092 for playing both R1 and R2 discs. I currently live in Canada, where supposedly all major brands have a licensing contract, prohibiting them from releasing anything but locked R1 players. I'm from Europe however, meaning...
