    1055 vs 1056

I just upgraded my 1055 with the 1056. I am using the system with the 1075 amp. I definitely like the new 1056, both in terms of features and sonic quality. I like to hear experiences/comments from the fellow 1056 users/upgraders. What do you think?

    Hi Bleakshore

well I am one of the 1056 owners...and I have to say over all I love it....The 2 channel is very nice...however right now I have a bunch of tweaks to do before I can truly say how great it is...

Cinema sound is great...the effects come out better than my (Onkyo ops I hear things that I never did before...the effects are picked up and brought out that you can`t miss it....Echoes are great...Cinema sound is clear and precise...not bright...not dark...just natural which is wuite an upgrade for me anyways....I was beginning to hate cinema sound before this receiver...

What I don`t like...The build quality of the audio and video ins and outs...wobly..cheap...should not be on a Rotel...crikes my Onkyo had a better build....

I hate low gain amps...but I know that is just me and has nothing to do with amps power....but I prefer juice and torque at the low level volumes...

Overall 4.5 out 5....would have 5 if not for pins

It cost me basically nothing to upgrade. I bought my 1055 in Oct, 2003 from Myer Emco. They have a 90 day upgrade policy. !056 was a bit late coming, but M-E let me exchage it for free anyway, for about $50.00. Figure it was worth it. If you don't have an arrangement like that, I don't know how much $ it will cost to do the upgrade. Sorry.

Bam - I agree about the build quality. I felt likewise with the 1055. The pins could be sturdier.

But - I might be hallucinating, but I think 1056 does really sound much nicer than the 1055. I was listening some music, but, boy, it sounds sweet!
