Routing video signal (component) via RSX-1067

    Folks,

I recently acquired a Rotel RSX-1067 receiver and hooked up my DVD player and ERA design satellite speakers with it. The sound is awesome but I am wondering if most of the owners of this receiver route their video signal (especially component) through it as well. Basically, was there a definite gain in the picture quality when the receivers video switching was used? Thanks in advance to any insight which I can get before I purchase another set of component cables.

I do not notice any improvement by routing it through the 1068, but it is convenient as a switcher. You could just as well direct the DVD directly to the screen. If you have 3 75ohm cables, you could just give it a try.

There is no gain in picture quality by routing your DVD by component video switching, if anything you would lose qualitly by running your video through the receiver via component. Really if you have other units with component output, using the 1068 as a switch just allows you to run one component cable to your tv. i would personally run you dvd direct to the source...your tv. Leave the rotel to just deal with sound. But thats just me.

I always run my video sources directly to the display unless forced otherwise. IT allows more flexibility in calibration, and bypasses potential for added noise (via a poor switcher...not rotel in this case).

            Hi all,

I am an owner of a 1098. I have an XBOX 360 with component out that I have plugged into the 1098. I am trying to get the picture BOTH on my projector through component, AND on the LCD display. The video out kit on the xbox has a switch to switch between HD (720p, 1080i or 1080p)...

I had the opportunity to test out a Studio Experience Cinema 20HD LCD front projector last night. Here I will post my impressions after playing with it for a few hours. It will be installed in the owner's home this weekend.

            Hi,

I want to start using the video switching capabilities of my 1068 but just wanted to make sure it does what I need.

My display is a 32" CRT TV and although I will replace it sometime soon I want to be able to route all my sources via the 1068 for now, as after...

            RSP 1098 TFT via Component?
            by Jagguy
I've searched this thread to see if the 1098 allows TFT display via component cables and see that you can only see video via a composite connection. However, most of the posts are older, and I was wondering if anyone knows if the current firmware version allows for TFT video via component cables only....

            1056 video processing problem?
            by wrekkah
I'm in the process of troubleshooting an intermitent problem with the video chain of my HT. I have an older Hughes satellite box. I send the signal to the 1056 via s-video. From the 1056 I send video signal to my TV (Sammy HLP 4674) via component and s-video. When I'm viewing the component signal, the...
