Which would be a better upgrade, add on, RB-1070 or RCD-1072 , A power amp or a CD player? My current set up is the RSX-1056 reciever and RDV-1050? I am trying to convert more towards a music based system.

Music!!!!!!!! then get the RCD 1072 as you have a receiver and it will do fine but the RDV 1050 will not give you that perfect sound In Analog like the 1072. The 1050 is a good DVD Player and excellent for ByPass and Multi Channel DVD-A but not normal CD.
Get the 1072 trust me!!!!!!!!

I'd say Chinets is right, given your choices. But what about your speakers? You may get more out of them. And as for your amp, I'd upgrade to a 200 wpc amp, not the 1070. But back to the speakers... what are your 2 front main speakers?Comment

Grit is right...The speakers to me are 1st on the list ,and will that receiver of yours drive them correctly??. If your receiver can drive them well ,then 1072 is your choice IMHO!!!Comment

The above is my current dilema. Already have RSX1056 and wondering which above option to choose - about the same cost either way. I want this to be my last spend for a while (stress want!). If I go with the 1080 I'll have to keep using my dvd player for music. Im prob 75%music/25%HT. From all reports... -
Found some info on the new cd player.
Its from a german site called http://www.gute-anlage.de (translates into www.good-system.de), which is a site from the german distributor I think. They have the RCD1072 listed at 899 euro with the following text:
