    RSP-1068 volume control

Can someone please explain how the volume control on the RSP-1068 works? When using bypass (records), does it control an analog circuit? If so, is this also the case when using a digital input (Squeezebox) or is it then controlling volume in the digital domain? How about contour, etc?

    Thanks a lot...

The volume is digital, it is not a pot (with signal passing through it), but from the way it performs it is probably an encoder where it uses steps or "pulses" to adjust the gain of the analog signal. Never used the contour controls so can't comment.

A fully Digital Volume Control for the DCX2496 users
      by Victor
I while ago there were many discussions regarding the implementation of the volume control for the DCX2496. I use the combination of the DEQ2496 and the DCX2496 to realize most the EQ needs of my full range 3-way dipole system. Until now I have been using two motorized 4-gang pots from Alps. The pots,...

      JC-2 remote volume control?
      by Bob Stern
I would appreciate feedback from JC2 owners as to whether it is easy to make fine adjustments to the volume using the remote, or whether the adjustments tend to be too coarse or overshoot the intended change.

(I love my JC-1's, but I'm inclined to buy a preamp with digital volume control...

      Rotel RSX-1055 Volume Control?
      by rotelfan
Hi, I just purchased a demo RSX-1055 unit, and new to this club. I have a question regarding the volume control of the 1055 (I know it's been discussed before), but I don't understand why I have to turn the volume up more than half (50/90) in order to get the same equivalent loudness of my old Pioneer...

Is there Volume control using XLR Bypass
      by misterdoggy
I think I am going to buy the Goldmund Digin which is a DAC pure and simple, one input to 2 analog outputs. they Say this is top DAC stuff and compares with their Nemisis line in quality.

So I was thinking of having my Ayre D-1XE transport send the digital signal Rca to the Digin which...

      RSX-1056 Volume control issue
      by MustangJeff
Strange problem that started happening in the past 6 months. The volume control on the front of my RSX-1056 seems to have a mind of it's own.

When I increase the volume it works correctly, and the numbers (dB) increase normally.

When I turn the knob counter clockwise to...
