I've been enjoying my Rotel set-up for a couple of years now but am embarrassed to say that beyond Swiffering the dust and cat hair off occasionally I've done absolutely no maintenance or cleaning whatsoever. I know that I should be wiping the contacts every once in a while, but is there something else I should be doing? Does anyone here actually crack the case of their preamp or amp to dust inside? Does Rotel equipment require some sort of special maintenance? Thanks!

I dust my gear once a week. I don't like it dusty. But you may want to use a computer compressed air. Use it to blow out the inside. The binding posts and line in connections you can clean with a dry cloth. Just wipe and go.Originally posted by MitchellDI've been enjoying my Rotel set-up for a couple of years now but am embarrassed to say that beyond Swiffering the dust and cat hair off occasionally I've done absolutely no maintenance or cleaning whatsoever. Audioquest provided me with a special cloth to polish my silver spade ends on my wires. Some kind of metal cleaner in the cloth

MitchellD, welcome to the forum.
I usually just crank my gear right up, that blows out all the cobwebs.
Just kidding
I probably should do a bit of cleaning myself sometime.
couldn't help myself.- Bottom

by wngCan you folks recommend a way to clean the casing without leaving streak marks, etc? I like the soft-touch feel of the surface material, but find it hard to clean nicely. I've tried a touch of water and an eyeglass cleaning cloth. Thanks.-

by JonJeffmanHey there,
So I found a RCD-971 locally that I picked up for a good price, but it'll either be one of those 'best-deal-ever' or 'waste-of-money' sort of things. Wondering if there's some simple routine maintenance I can/should do?
The original owner said that about 1% of the time,...-

by gerardhnHi all,
Now the new black piano lacquer is on the market for some time.... what about its cleaning needs.
In the old 802+ series, I had to remove weakly a thin layer of white dust from the marlan head. The wooden body needed no care.
Of course horizontal...-
