    Can you control a RCD-1072 with a Krell remote?

    I was just wondering if it is possible to control the Rotel RCD-1072 using a Krell remote by using the EXTERNAL REMOTE option?

    I'm just talking about basic functions such as play, stop, next etc.

      The external remote is just a plug for a different IR receiver (instead of the one built in). While the Krell might have an IR output that could 'pass' IR commands, it's remote would still need to have the Rotel codes. Really no need to even try if the two are next to each other.

          I have a question about hooking up a remote IR receiver to my RX-1052 receiver. I just want to control my RCD-1072 CD player from another room where my good speakers are located.

          There is an EXT REMOTE jack on the back of the 1052. Shouldn't I just be able to hook an external IR Xantech...
