RDV-1080: no power - just died

I just put a DVD into my Rotel RCV-1080, and it just powered off and won't turn back on.
Has anyone else heard of this problem?
Is there anything I can do?
I've had it for about 3 years, if I take it back to the dealer is it reasonable to have any expectations that they can do anything?

Haven't heard of that before, but I wasn't around too much when the 1080's were out. Rotel only has a 2 year warranty on their DVD players, but they can certainly check it out for you and give you a quote.

      Power Cord -- dumb questions...

Were you able to verify the power cord and all that...Does the standby RED LED light up at all?

If you have a stand-by LED -- What happens after you do a soft reset (unplug for 5 mins) and reapply power?

Just ran through the manual....that's all I got!?

        Sixsevans,

I haven't experienced that with my RB-1080. I concur with Cornchips, verify the power cord is full seated at both ends. I know the power cord on my 1080 has wiggled loose a couple of times. Also check for blown fuses, once power has been verified, unplug before checking.

        Peace and blessings,

          Rotel 1565 power cord issue
          by RoMan
Quick question. What is the best way to secure the power cord in the socket of my Rotel RMB 1565 amp? Everytime I need to move my cabinet the power cord seems to lose contact with the socket and the amp shuts off. I'm finding I need to turn off the amp, and then reach in and push it in to get a good...

          1066 Power cord replacement
          by Ron Reda
Based on some discussion in another thread, I went ahead and ordered a VH Audio Flavor 3 power cord to replace the stock cord that came with the 1066 pre/pro. However, when it arrived today, I noticed that the cord had a three-prong female receptacle with a three-prong male receptacle versus a two-prong...

          Power Cord Question
          by BWLover
So I got an RLC-1040 and the power cord that came with it was maybe 2 feet :M (on a good day). So I switched it with the power cord on my RB-1080. They were both 14AWG cords but the 1080's was 6 feet (long enough for my RLC-1040). Now the 2 foot cord is to short to be used on my amp. So now the cord...

          Replacement Power Cord
          by toledoguy
I need to purcahse a replacement power cord for a Rotel RMB-1066 Amp. Nothing wrong with the old power cord, I purchased it from an friend and the amp works fine. I tested it with the power cord from my Rotel RB-1050 amp. Any suggestions on where to find a replacement power cord? Thanks

          RB-1080 power cord options
          by JonJeffman
          Hi there,
So my RB-1080 got delivered this weekend, but the seller forgot to put the power cord in the box. So while I wait for him to send me the stock cord I was just wondering if I could use a power cord from my PC to run the amp? Looks like the same socket to me.

          I'm not...
