I need to purcahse a replacement power cord for a Rotel RMB-1066 Amp. Nothing wrong with the old power cord, I purchased it from an friend and the amp works fine. I tested it with the power cord from my Rotel RB-1050 amp. Any suggestions on where to find a replacement power cord? Thanks

There are umpteen million outfits willing to provide a power cord. From M*nster to Shunyata. What price range , and what expectations do you have for the change? If you just want a way to get 110 ACV from point A to Point B , there should be a plethora of options. I would check big box stores or local audio stores.Lee

I'm looking for a cord that is of the same quality of the Rotel Power cord that has been lost. I understand that there are quite a number of maufactuers out there. Interestingly enough, when searching a number of web sites, I have found 3 prong, grounded cords, and not the two prong cord used by the amps. I'm sure that there are those who will argue that a super expensive power cord is critical, but i'll go with the one that satisfies Rotel's requirements. It wil be plugged into a modertly priced surge protector/power conditioner.- Bottom

That is the issue I've had while cable shopping for my CD player. The connection on the back of the player is two prong , and the recess is a specific shape. Having a hard time finding an upgrade that fits. :scratchhead: My amp has a hard-wired power cord , and I'm sort of on the fence with that procedure. I need to be pretty certain that the benefit will be noticeable to start that project.Lee

I'm not getting a power cord just to "upgrade", I assume the Rotel power cord works just fine. The court that came with the RMB-1066 was lost. The person I purchased it from had not used it in a little while and replaced the cord. So I'm not looking for an upgrade just a replacement.- Bottom

You're probably looking for something like these:
Or go to a computer store (like Microcenter) and find the powercord with the biggest guage on it.
Hope this helps.- Bottom

Just in case anyone is interested, in my search for a replacement power cord I called my local Rotel dealer. Nice guy, he didn't have the part in stock, and actually recommended a part he might not carry. The point being, he was rather insistent that a high quality IEC power cord, better than even the one that comes with the Rotel Amps would be of benefit. His theory is that in a high current amp, like the Rotel Amps electricty is everything, thus, a cord that helps get the electricty with as little resistance as possible to the amp from the wall is of value. So now of I go to find something I like.- Bottom

by Ron RedaBased on some discussion in another thread, I went ahead and ordered a VH Audio Flavor 3 power cord to replace the stock cord that came with the 1066 pre/pro. However, when it arrived today, I noticed that the cord had a three-prong female receptacle with a three-prong male receptacle versus a two-prong...-

by RoManHi all,
I was going to buy an Audioquest nrg 2 cable for my RSP 1570 when I noticed where you plug in the cord to the 1570 is only 2 prong. Much to my dismay I can't buy this type of power cord. Does anyone know if it would still fit even there is no ground prong(so to speak)?? I would...-

by beboramWhy did switching out all the 2 prong power cord that came with the receiver with a 3 prong regular cord of the same guage make my audio system come alive as if a sheer veil being lifted? -
by Russ LThe RB-1070 only has a 2 prong female outlet for the power cord (while the RB-1080 has a 3 prong). If I want to upgrade my power cable does anyone know a brand that supplies a cable that will fit? I've searched everywhere to no luck. I hope Doug doesn't mind the question since he doesn't sell power...-

by BWLoverSo I got an RLC-1040 and the power cord that came with it was maybe 2 feet :M (on a good day). So I switched it with the power cord on my RB-1080. They were both 14AWG cords but the 1080's was 6 feet (long enough for my RLC-1040). Now the 2 foot cord is to short to be used on my amp. So now the cord...-
