    Rotel 1068 upgrade

Does anyone know if Rotel has any plans to upgrade the 1068? While I am a big fan of Rotel I can get better processing capabilities from a Yamaha RXV2600 and use the the Rotel amps. I would really like to keep my kit all Rotel but do not see where it makes sense to do so with the lack of features on the 1068. I do not want to spend money on the 1098 because at that price I can get a Z-9. Anyway, back to my original question, does any know if they are planning on upgrading the 1068? Thanks

      Skuzzby,

I used my Yamaha RXV-3000 as a preamp for years with a Rotel amp. But every since I brought the 1068, major difference with processing sound from movies or music!!!!! I'm saving to upgrade the bedroom system from the RXV-3000 to either a Rotel receiver or another 1068.

What exactly are you looking for in processing capabilities?

          HDMI input and output
          Upconversion on broadcast sources

Since I will be using this for both HT and music I would like something that has good HT capabilities, especially video processing. I am aware that a good DVD player can handle the video (ARCAM, Yamaha 2500 or the Denon 3910) but from an integration standpoint it makes sense to channel everything through the HT processor.

Then you would probably be happy waiting for the 1068's replacement. You could probably get the 2600 and resell it when the 106x hits.

              Hello everyone,

I just hooked the 1068 up last Friday and probably have spent a good 10 hours with it so far. The unit I was coming from was a lexicon DC-1 (latest V4. 1999) that had the center channel and sub inputs blown so getting the center and sub back was refreshing. ...

              1068 and Rotel problems

I bought a 1068 used that was only a month old. The original owner thought it was too difficult for some of the family members to operate, which I didn't really find to be true at all. Anyway, I had the unit sitting around the house for a month in the box while I was deciding what 5-channel amplifier...

              1066 vs. 1068 Comparison

              Hello all:

I bought the 1066 in December 2003 and a few months later, out came the 1068! Subsequent to purchasing Rotel separates, I bought a VPI Aries Scout and have submerged myself in LPs since. I would now call myself an analogue junkie (or vinyl junkie).

              I have read...

I just hooked up my rotel system yesterday. Running a 1068 with a 1075 amp. It was an upgrade from a Denon AVR-3300. I do not beleive the difference in Music this makes. I just realized how much, I am missing out. So, know I want to upgrade everything, as I am in love with this system. Now, this...
