Just wondering if one was to get the 1092 for mains and the 1077 for surrounds, would most processors still have enough adjustment in the level controls to level match the 500W per channel mains with the 100W per channel for all the remaining channels?
1092 for mains and 1077 for surrounds, who can do the math?

Hi,
This is about 6db more power... However Rotel (like most manufacturers) try to keep the gain of their amps similar within a DB or two so you don't have this problem... According to their web site the gain on the RB-1092 is 27.2 db, while the gain on the RMB-1077 is 27.4db
What this means is that for the same input, the RB-1092 actually 0.2 db softer (which is inaudable). The extra power rating means though it can go much louder in response to musical peaks and drive more difficult loads.
I'm considering the same thing!

What speakers do I have? I have 2 pairs of mains and I keep swapping them in and out, they both have properties I like. I have the Dynaudio Contour S5.4's and the Dynaudio Special 25's. I also have a Velodyne DD15 sub and Contour SR's for surrounds and centre.
The other thought I had was to perhaps go with the Special 25's and get a DEQX preamp/fancy crossover thingy and just get the 1077. Then I could then bypass the Special 25's crossover and use the DEQX (http://deqx.com/stereo.html) with 4 channels of the 1077 and the Velodyne to make a flat frequency, phase correct triamped stereo system. That would then leave 3 channels on the 1077 for centre and 2 rears.
Food for thought.- Bottom

by RebelManI was running some errands today that inadvertently brought me near a Rotel dealer. I had some extra time on my hands so I thought I would pop in and see what changes have taken place since my last visit, which wasn’t that long ago. One of the salesmen, that I have gotten to know pretty well, was...-

by cfrizzHi I'm new to posting on the board, but I've been a visitor for about 2 yrs.
Over the past 4 months I've been checking out the 2 above mentioned amps since I'm really attracted to the smaller size with the really big sound. Here are the reviews I posted on another board I frequent....-

by yourtoys7804S are going through 1057 at the moment, in stereo getting 100w.
If I get 1092 for fronts
, the rest will be off 1057
If 1077 I could bi-amp the front and center.
How much improvment will I see w. 1077 bi-amped compare to what I get at the moment ? or should I just...-

by htsteveThis post is a bit lengthy, but I wanted to get all of my thoughts in. I recently purchased a Rotel 1077 amp. Below are my impressions after about 3 weeks. First, to give context to the 1077’s performance, I want to quickly review were I was and how I got to where I am now. I have B&W N804’s...-

by mjbWell, I couldn't resist, I added a 1092 this weekend after comments about not doing my speakers (802d) justice driven with a 1077.
I'm not an audio journalist, so I can't offer three pages of questionable adjectives! But...
Compared with the 1077, the sound and stage is...-
