    Help - RSX-1055 / RB-1050 - redirect feature

Just relocated my gear in our living room and I'm having a bugger of a time to get the redirect to work again. I used to have the RB-1050 driving the front left and right channels but decided that it would be better to use the RB-1050 for the 2 x centre back channels.

Sure it is all connected up right but when I do the redirect Centre-Back and then a Factoiry default I get no sound on the rears? Set the speakers to 2 x centre-back and no test tone on the surround menus. Also, when I'm playing DVDs / PS2 I get the front channels coming out of the centre-back speakers.

Very frustrating - I've checked the wiring and must have reset about a dozen times but to no avail. I'm on 2.2x firmware (not latest) but the feature used to work when i had the front channels thru the RB-1050???

Any ideas? Loathe to have to drag it into Encel to get them to look at it and point out the dumb thing I was doing wrong...

p.s. Once or twice if I switch off the RB-1050 the protection light stays on even though the main power switch is off - any pointers?

    Thanks,

    Darren

    RSX1055 7.1 surround (Phew!)
    by Al K
I have an older RSX1055 with original version of firmware. Recently hooked up two CB speakers and utilized the redirect feature in the on display menu. Initially the RSX1055 would reset the redirect back to front speakers. I called Rotel and was told to update the firmware. Then I called...

Redirect feature of RSX-1055 not working
    by Terry
I recently bought a Rotel RB-1070 amp hoping to use it to drive my front speakers and use the redirect feature in the receiver to use it to drive the center back speakers.

Unfortunately I have not been able to get this to work.

I just upgraded the firmware from 1.37...

    Rotel RSX1055 8 ohm only?
    by hal
The back panel of the unit indicates that speaker impedance should not be less than 8 ohms. I had high hopes of driving my KEF 104/2 speakers (nominal 4 ohms). Other Rotel units (e.g., the RB1050 power amp) drive these speakers effortlessly. I'd hate to have to consider the extra $$$ for the RSX1065...

    Another question about 1056 redirect
    by cmr15
I know that this issue has been addressed in the forum, and I have done a search to investigate it myself. However, I'm a bit confused and would really appreciate your answers.

I am probably going to get the 1056 and add and amp like the 1070 to power my main speakers for good 2 channel...

    1055 Redirect Not Working
    by Energeezer
Finally got around to bi-amping my front speakers last night using my RSX 1055 and RMB 1075.
Unfortunately the Redirect feature of my 1055 does not seem to be working. When I select redirect rear back speakers to front it will not take and remains on front.
    Any ideas
    My firmware...
