    Help: Headphone amp through 1068

    hi
i have just finished building a headphone amp and i have connected it to my 1068 via the tape out. i have a cambridge audio azur 640c cd player connected to the amp. when i select cd the sound comes through the speakers, when i push tape the sound comes through the headphones. so far so good. my only problem is that i cannot control the volume of the headphones through the headphone amp. is my only option to install a potentiometer into the amp or can something be done through the 1068?

You could always connect your headphone amp to the zone 2 out of the RSP-1068 and set the output to variable, then set the desired source to zone 2. You could also install it between your Main pre-out and power amp too and manually turn your amp off when listerning to headphones.

You could use a Y splitter for the Left and Right speakers pre outs one going to your main amplifier and the other set to use for your headphone amp. This way you would be able to control the gain. The tape out is not connected to the pre-amplifier it just sends out the same signal that comes in.

            Hi, folks,

My 1068 is just a week-plus old and works fine but for one quirk.
I have a Gilmore Lite headphone amp connected to Video3 out.
It works fine with the CD, tuner (1080, also new), and phono, but
not with the DVD/SACD player. The "play everything"...

I thought I would give you my initial thoughts on this headphone amp. First off and be advised, this amp has piles of gain, both in the low gain and in the high gain settings (Not sure which one I like better yet). This amp will have no problem powering ANYTHING you connect it too!!. I would not call...

            Headphone amp for RSP-1098?
            by whmacs
            Hi All,
I'm contemplating getting a headphone amp for my RSP-1098 to improve two channel listening (I've got Jamo THX speakers which are great for movies, but not so good for music). I am tossing up between the MF XCAN v3 and the Creek OBH21SE. I've currently got a pair of Senn HD570 headphones,...

            Headphone amp connections
            by UFObuster
Just bought a Grado headphone amp and need a little advice on hook-up to my RSP-1068.
Excluding CD and Tuner audio-input, I have 4 other audio "inputs": TV, 2xDVD, and PC (for MP3).

Is the Zone 2 output to the Grado the best option to hear all 6 audio inputs? Is the...

            Headphone amp in Rotel 1070
            by Glenee
Anybody here ever used the headphone output amp on a Rotel 1070 Pre-Amp ? Is it sufficient to run a pair of AKG K701 Headphones or will it still require a separate headphone amp ?
            thanks,
            Glenee
