RSX1055 subwoofer connection - how??

:? I just bought a subwoofer - a Velodyne CHT-8 (I know, not the best sub to use, but what I could afford at this time!) - and realized that the Rotel RSX1055 has no sub connections! How do I connect a sub to this receiver? The owners manual is no help, nor is the Rotel site. I did a search here, but couldn't find anything about it - guess everyone else knows what they're doing. h:

Sorry for the newbie question...I made the assumption that the Rotel receiver had all that was necessary for connecting a 5.1 speaker system, and it probably does, but I can't figure it out.

Use the sub1 preout on the left side of the receiver. You connect it with a RCA cable.

Well, now I really feel a bit foolish! I saw the pre-amp connections on the back of the receiver, but didn't, obviously, take note of the sub 1 & sub 2 connections. I take it I need some sort of a "Y" RCA cable - there are left & right RCA inputs on the subwoofer, only one connector on the receiver. Just trying to make sure I'm understanding.... ops:

Double check with your sub's instruction book but you should be able to connect a single RCA line from the sub1 preout to the "left" input of the sub. That is the conventional way of connecting a mono signal to devices with stereo inputs available.

No need to feel foolish That's what forums like this are here for. There's only one way to know how to do all this stuff and that's by learning from other people and asking questions. Don't be afraid if you have any more of them Now go enjoy your 1055 and the rest of your system!
