RCA connectors picking up interference on my amp

Currently I'm in contact with Rotel regarding my 1095 that gives of a hum when connected to my pre/pro. The hum that the amp gives of is only present when my DVD player is connected to pre/pro via coax but not with optical. Its also present when my dvd/pre is connected by optical and I connect my sub to my pre/pro via a coax cable. Yet disappears once I connect a piece of cable coax to my pre/pro FM tuner connection and the other end to my Monster CATV connection. I guess this grounds everything. While doing some checking of connections as per instructions from Rotel I noticed that if I disconnect everything and only have speakers connected everything is quiet, but as I add back my RCA connections from pre/pro to amp the hum occurs. If I connect the TV coax cable as explained earlier and only have 1 of the RCA connections attached to my pre/pro I now get static through the speakers. If I place my fingers over the RCA connections on the amp I can make the static get quieter though it only disappears when all 5RCA connections are connected to my pre/pro. This doesn't sound normal to me?

Anyone seen the Parasound Halo Pre-Pro Yet?

Because I'm a pretty hard core video nut at heart, as well as more than a little out in left field on the audio side, I'm not generally one to get worked up over Pre-Pro's - most don't offer a combination of technology that hit's on all cylinders for me... 7.1 or 9.1 or whatever doesn't really count...

    DD-HD and DTS-HD : Will pre-pro's decode them?

Someone brought an interesting point to my attention the other day. Digital rights management with respect to audio. HDMI exists almost only because someone became concerned that DVI lacked the ability to control content, and allowed users to make a perfect 1:1 copy of digital video material.

I am in the market for a new pre-pro and wanted your guy’s opinions on my options. I have been reading a lot for about 3 months, but still would like some more opinions. The main things I can looking for in new pre-pro are excellent audio detail and a good wide open soundstage....

    DVD & pre/pro pairing
    by jazznsoccer
Ok - I've looked at DVD players and the best one out there seems to be the Denon 5900. However, this DVD player seems to be so good that I should bypass all of my pre/pro circuitry and just analog bypass on to my amp. Now the question is why should I buy a high end pre/pro (such as Rotel 1098) to go...
