    RSP 1066 Pops

    A few months ago I read posts about popping noises from the RSP1066. I didn't pay too much attention to the threads, or the solution until MY 1066 started popping this weekend whenever the input changes modes from PLII to DD. This happens with both DVD input and SAT TV. My 1066 has firmware version 2.2.2. I never bothered to upgrade it since everything worked fine till recently. You know, the old "if it ain't broke" adage. I am seeking suggestions from those who had the problem and then overcame it.

      First step, upgrade to 2.26 and see if that fixes it.. Rotel changed a few things with that release and no one's quite sure if that's the definitive fix or not..

      Anything, anything at all, change before this weekend? Some theories think that some form of static buildup produces the pops, so even putting the Chrismas Tree up next to the Rotel might effect it..

          Thanks Kevin,

          The only recent change was an upgrade in subwoofers from an SVS 2039 PCi to a P2B+. As far as static goes, winter is setting in and even here in S. Florida the air is drier. I need to procure an upgrade cable and do the upgrade to 2.2.6.
