    rotel rsp 1066 optical problem

Hi, I have an RSP1066 which has always work 100%, but I have just purchased a Maya44 PCi audio interface to connect to allow decent quality from my PC stored music. I have connected the two via optical cable (1st time I have tried using the 1066's optical input), but no matter what I do I am unable to get any output from the Rotel. Signal from Interface seems to be fine. Any suggestions?

Try a different cable and/or a differnt input on the 1066. No Luck? Then try an optical input from another source (DVD player). If that works, my guess would be the problem's at the Maya card's output

Sincere thanks for the advice. I am actually amazed that I was able to overlook the obvious solution so easily! Took me all of 3 minutes after a frustrating afternoon. I wonder if it is normal to immediately want to blame the expensive kit, and not even think to properly test the new cheap add on? Tested the cable and intput using dvd as source and it works perfectly. So now will check out and /or replace the Maya - thanks again.

        Digital throughput on 1066
        by keiron99
I hope I can explain this clearly:

I have acquired a DAC for my hifi which I want to use for my stereo music listening as it provides higher quality replay than the 1066. I will connect my source to the DAC digitaly, then connect the lineouts of the DAC to the 1066 (in effect just using...

RSP-1066 front channel to Classé CAP-101

I’m trying to use my Classé CAP-101 integrated amplifier to drive the front channels for RSP-1066. I’ve connected the front L and R pre-outs from RSP-1066 to an input in CAP-101, but I can not ear any sound (even with the volume in RSP-1066...

        RSP-1066 vs. RSP-1068 vs. RSP 1069
        by biekrx
I have been planning to buy an RSP-1069 for a while as I build up my home theater. Unfortunately, cash has gotten a little tighter than I hoped, and I still don't have a surround processor and the only display I have is a 12 year old 27" CRT. I can only fix one of these problems right now and...

        RSP-1068 and Xbox 360
        by eelco74
I have a annoying problem that has developed last month.

I have a Xbox 360 connected via optical to my rsp-1068.
After a few minutes of use, a hum appears in all channels.
swithing source (cd/tape/dvd) makes no difference. The hum stays.
        swithing the 1068 on/off removes...

        RSP-1066 & phono input
        by rickfaldo
Howdy: Well, after all these years, decided it was time to drag out the old phono and listen to some fine old vinyl. Got my Dual 601 serviced and cleaned, new belt and excited about my new adventure. Guess I overlooked the fact the RSP-1066 does not have a phono input/preamp...oops. Does anyone...
