    RR 1050 woes

    Just bought a RCD 1070 without the remote (I got a good deal) I thought not a big problem since I have the RSX 1065 with the RR 1050 remote. The RR 1050 will not operate the RCD 1070 no matter what I do. Tried clearing out the old CD codes, also the preload function. Is there a code I can put in to operate the RCD 1070. Any info would be appreciated.

    P.S. I have been reading posts on here for months and I would like everyone to know that this site is very informative and seems like a good bunch of audiophile/videophiles. IndyLuke

      Hi,

      I don't have a RCD-1070 but I don't think this is normal. I think you are missing some codes. You may want to talk to a Rotel dealer or maybe even take the RR-1050 to a shop that sells Rotel stuff and reprogrammed it using the RCD-1070 or 1072 remote. Or you can have it clone another RR-1050 remote at the shop and see if it works with Rotel CD players.

      Please someone else correct me if I am wrong on this.

      PS Your remote sensor on the CD player might be faulty as well.

          Welcome to Club Rotel

          That is strange, your 1050 remote should automatically be able to control your Rotel CD player.... :? I'd try to bring your remote to your dealer as mazuly stated and try it on their CD players to see if it's your player or your remote. If it's your remote they should be able to program the remote with the correct codes if yours is not working.

              Thanks for the info, I will probably take the RR 1050 to the dealer and figure it out there. I was just seeing if there was some sort of quick fix I could do at home. The remote works great on everything else just not the darn 1070. Not that big a deal really, the 1065/1070 combo with my Klipsch RF 7's with an HDCD CD is oh so sweet.

                  Just received an email from Rotel Tech Support and he stated that the RR 1050 can only control Rotel receiver/processors and the Rotel DVD players with the factory settings. All other Rotel components (CD players) will have to be programmed with the learn function.

                      Hi to all,

                      New to the group and hope someone can help me out. I have a seven year old RR-1050 remote that's got some problems with the buttons. I can purchase a new programmable remote, but all of the buttons on my 1050 are not working, so I'm looking for a way to get the Rotel IR codes...

                      For my current set-up see my signature.
                      I went to the dealer and listened to the RCD 1072. I was very pleased, I listen 2 channel stereo most of the time. The dealer wasn't able to a/b RCD 1072 and RDV 1050, and couldn't lent me a demo. Is there anyone who a/b the RDV...
