    Componet Video Question With RSP-1068

I'm in the process of installing a FP and was wondering if I needed to run any other cables besides componet video. Will the 1068 send the video signal from any input (video 1, video 2, etc..) to the componet output then to the projector. Even if video 1 input is s-video or composite video. And, does it do it automatically?

Yes the 1068 will upconvert and signal to Component.

Just to play Devil's advocate, if you have the ability to run more cables now, an extra coax for composite video might not be a bad idea. Some equipment has been known to look worse and even lose color going through the conversion.

Thanks guys. I just wasn't sure if the upconversion was automatic. Kevin, good idea about running an extra cable. I would imagine a composite cable should work just fine.

No, the 1066 does not have any video conversions built in.

              Component to s-video/composite conversion
              by Danielf
              Hi all,

I am an owner of a 1098. I have an XBOX 360 with component out that I have plugged into the 1098. I am trying to get the picture BOTH on my projector through component, AND on the LCD display. The video out kit on the xbox has a switch to switch between HD (720p, 1080i or 1080p)...

Component video cables into receiver or tv?
              by tboooe
Hi, I was wondering if there is a preferred method of connecting the componet video cables. Should I connect them into the receiver or directly into the TV. Is there any benefit of doing either?

I plan on buying the rsp 1068 soon.

And to verify, using component video...

Rotel 1066 component video setup problem
              by mattstacey
              Hi guys,

I just replaced my Denon 3802 with a Rotel 1066 yesterday, hooked up to a Rotel 1075 amp. I haven't had much of a chance to listen to it yet but so far it sounds awesome.

I have a problem with my video connections though. I had no problems with the Denon 3802 so...

newbie question - new receiver or video switcher?
              by zgeist
First, I'm new to this HT thing - I *have* read lots of posts, but I'm still confused - so I thought I just ask. Second, I'm posting this in Club Rotel because one of the options I'm considering is the RSX-1055...

Basically, I'm getting a plasma tv and I'm trying to figure out how best...

Is the RSP-1098 sonically superior to the RSP-1068?
              by wirebrat
              Hi All,

I am a happy RSP-1068 owner. When I purchased it, I wanted the RSP-1098 but could not afford it. I now have the opportunity to upgrade for a reasonable premium. Aside from the TFT and perhaps some additional ins/outs, is there any sonic difference between the two?
