I have a RSX-1055 as my HT receiver :T
I just bought a Reel Acoustics RSW-1215 sub...
I'm just asking myself if I have plugged it allright...
On the RSX-1055:
- I connected the sub cable in the "SUB1" output
- I set my speakers to "SMALL" and sub to "YES" (not MAX)
- I set the 1055's crossover point to 80hz
On the sub:
- I connected the sub cable in the input
- I set the crossover point to 150hz (since nothing more than 80hz is sent by the 1055?)...
- didn't touch the phase knob
- adjusted the volume to match the output volume of the speakers (around noon)
from there, am I all right?
Now for the questions:
- the .1 track in the 5.1 mixes (DD or DTS) is completeley independent, meaning it has it's own information?
- the 80hz crossover point on the 1055 is only to re-sent to the sub the frequencies from the main, centre and surrounds speakers? the .1 info is it's own?
- with the sub wire, there was a "Y" interconnect included, should I connect it into the "SUB1" and "SUB2" from the 1055? or just connect the single end in "SUB1" ?
Will probably have more comming!!
thanks!!
