Hi, new 1056 owner here. Got a question for you all. My 86db speakers are not real easy to drive, although so far in my room, they sound very good with the 1056. I was thinking of buying a couple of subwoofer amps specifically made to drive the subwoofer section of my NHT 2.5's, namely the NHT SA-2 (120W). In essence, I would be biamping by having the front channel on the 1056 driving the the tweeter/mids and the woofer section would be driven by the sub amps. What do you all think? Do you think this would be a good setup? I'm thinking 75W will be plenty for the tweeter and midrange cone.
The one nice thing about the NHT SA-2 sub amps are that they have a gain control which I think will let me tailor the bass, i.e. have tone control. Altneratively, I was thinking of getting a Rotel (1050/1070?) amp for biamping. Or I might just get a regular 2 channel amp (used) with volume/gain pots like the Parasound or Marantz and use that for the bass section. What do you all think?
