New 1056 but unable to tweek.

Just wondering if anyone could help out a new 1056 owner in regards to tapping into the brain of my new friend. I push the OSD button, the "osd" icon appears. I then push the enter button as instructed...nothing!
This has to be a minor oversight but I am at a standstill with my set up as there is no menu to evaluate. I do not yet have a projector and so there is no video and so no osd via video. One has to be able to program the unit without a video source...yes?
Thanks and if this has been discussed previously, excuse me and simply direct me to that page. Thanks and have a great day!

you have to have that hooked up to a video output to view it.

Any small TV will work, or ever a cheap car LCD panel just for setup. I did help a blind person change a few things once, but I don't think I could do it for an initial setup.

Thanks for the reply guys. I can't believe that the menu is unobtainable other than a video output. I mean, I do but it seems rather odd does it not. I guess I have to keep a small tv plugged in while I fine tune some things no big deal just odd. Thanks again.

OSD means On Screen Display. It's a home theater reciever. It's designed to be attached to some sort of monitor or screen.

          Congrats on the purchase. Enjoy!

            RSX-1056 Video Output
            by JFugazzi
            Hello everyone

I'm looking for a new home theatre receiver and I was wondering if the RSX-1056 sends the OSD and upconverts the SVGA and Video inputs so that
they can be viewed with just the component video output connected to
the TV. Also can anyone comment on how easy...

            1056 video processing problem?
            by wrekkah
I'm in the process of troubleshooting an intermitent problem with the video chain of my HT. I have an older Hughes satellite box. I send the signal to the 1056 via s-video. From the 1056 I send video signal to my TV (Sammy HLP 4674) via component and s-video. When I'm viewing the component signal, the...

            1055/1056 Video Switching
            by sylvain
            Hi,

I spent a lot of time listening to NAD and Rotel receivers in the store and decided to go for the cheaper NAD T753.

Unfortunately, I am having a lot of problem with the video switching abilities of the receiver. There is a strong red push (10-15% measured with the Avia...

            RSX-1056 Video Switching ???
            by Junkjet
            Hi All:
I have another 1056 setup question for you. Recently my girlfriend found a box of VHS tapes that she wanted reviewed prior to disposal, so I connected the VCR directly to the TV just so she could check out a few of these tapes. Well now she wants the VCR to stay so I thought that I’d...

            1056 video dropouts
            by Noddy
I am expereincing occasional video dropouts when watching digital tv, this happens on a daily basis. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?

Oh yeah, my previous yamaha 2400 and denon receivers never had this issue so it is something that has only started since installing...
