    RB-1090 with Klipsch RF5?

Is anyone running this combo? I know a few here have RF7s and love the 1090 but what about the RF5?

RF7s might be in my future but for now the 5s are here and I am curious to know if the 1090 works well with them.

I think maybe the rb1080 whould be more than enough even if you upgrade to the rf7s I have Klipsch klf30s and run them with the 1080 Klipsch are so effiecent you don't need that much power The 1090 is an awsome amp but IMO it's to big for what you need and you save $1000 to spend elsewhere :B Rich

I am with Rich, get yourself the 1080, and spend the extra grand towards a nice frontend, pre-pro. I started with the SF2's, then the RF3's, and now the RF7's, and the 1080 is more than enough for all 3 series of speaks. If you like the way Klipsch sounds, the higher up the reference scale you go, the "more" of it you get. In the proper enviroment, the Rotel/Klipsch combo excells. Both companies design there products to deliver every little nuance there is to be heard, and both do so quite accurately. And both deliver absolute bang for the buck, period.

        If I buy the 1080, I won't have a 1090. :B
I expect the RF7s will be along in the next few months so my question is more a speaker question than an amp question. The RF5s are here so what can I expect when I plug them into the 1090?

I have read more than a few threads ( ok, maybe only a few) about the RF7 with the 1080 and the 1090 and the majority have written there is a great difference in SQ between the 1080 and the 1090.

        Thanks

The difference in SQ isn't all that great, and it may not necessarily be in favor of the 1090, depending on your listening habits. For Classical and most Jazz I would vote for the 1080 (lower distortion and noise) for Rock or Rap in a huge room then my vote would go to the 1090 for brute force and separation. Either way you will have a great amp, they are both true winners. I think if they were both side by side in an ab test you'd have a hard time distinguishing between them.

By the way, I love my RF7s as I did my RF3s before them, but you may want to skip over the RF7s once you see and hear the rumored new Reference Premiere's (3 way) due out in September.

Doesn't KathyMason on the boards here have the RB-1090 and Klipsch RF7s and says it's audio nirvana for her. You might want to drop her a line and ask her exactly what she thinks.

She'll give you an honest answer also so if that setup isn't for you, she'll tell you.

Klipsch was supposed to come out with a Reference Premiere 2-way over two years ago, that never happened as it never got into finalize stage to hit public. Now Klipsch is planning to come out with Reference Premiere 3-way design. It starts in the $4000.00 range so it puts it into a much different price range than that of the RF-5 or RF-7.

Rumor has it, that many felt the RF-7 still sounded better than the new Premiere, however Klipsch said at the time the Premiere was still being spec. out and wasn't in final stage during the listening. Klipsch has set September as their annouce date of their new products coming out, so most will have to wait until then to see just what Klipsch has in store for us.

Don't forget that many dealers have a trade up upgrade deal for Klipsch if one feels the need to move up another notch in the Klipsch Line.

There is a difference between the Rotel RB-1080 and RB-1090, a listen at your local dealer will clear that up. The RB-1080 is of single design, the RB-1090 is of separate dual mono design with an even better build quality.

I've been informed that it was not the Premiere line that was rumored that the RF-7 sounded better, but an upcoming new Klipsch speaker, other than the Reference Premiere brought to my attention by a Klipsch member, but could not comment on what product that is, being that it's still secret until September! Thanks for bringing the correction to my attention! :T

                    This just in...

"Spoke to X on double super secret background for about two mins before he went on vacation ..." MPeak proceeded to spell out some guidance on a story that was beginning to roil the forums. He finished, "please don't source this to X or even KHQ" and suggested another poster check with K.

The subpoena should be arriving shortly.

                        RB 1080 runs hot
                        by DrJRapp
I added a new 1080 to my system about two weeks ago to drive my RF & LF speakers which are Klipsch RF7s. The amp seems to run pretty hot, much hotter than my 1075 ever did when it was driving the same speakers at similar SPL.

Has anyone else experienced this out of a 1080?

Last night I added my new RB 1080 into my audio/video mix. I actually got the amp last week with my RSP 1098, but decided to wait a few days to add the 1080 so that I could evaluate the improvements that the 1098 alone brought to my system. Previously I had a RMB1075 powering five channels of my surround...

I'm having thoughts about upgrading my system and want some advice on which direction to proceed. Currently I have a RMB1075 driving the fronts center and side surrounds of a 7.1 system with a RB1050 driving the rears. I have contemplated two different possibilities. The first is to change the 1050...

I did this review for the Klipsch forum of how wonderful
the Klipsch RF-7 and Rotel RB-1090 sound together.
The Rotel RB-1090 is a superb amp with the Klipsch
RF-7. Klipsch are very revealing speakers with any

To some that may seem like a presumptious title, but after spending about an hour now with the 1077 running 2 channel, it may be closer to the truth than many can imagine. The 1077 has real b---s and one doesn't need a wheelbarrow to cart it around either! While real critical listening will have to...
