    bi-wire or by-amp a 1066?

    current set up
    rotel rmb-1080
    rotel rmb-1066
    rotel rsp-1098
    b&w (2) 805 -front
B&w (3)scm1-sl, sr and center (they had a deal)
    b&w asw 750 sub
    faroudja nrs
    plasma
    dish
    dvd
room is about 19" by 10 with a lot of glass and concrete

i had every thing except the 1098 and the scm1's in a two channel set up, but i like to watch movies. So i just got this new stuff and wil be setting it up on friday.

I have a few questions please:

Should I bi-wire or bi-amp the 1066 for center and rears?
Will the amp support the load of the speakers or will it burn up?
Any thoughts on why rotel made the 1098 like a cpu? Will they come out will dvi or similiar boards to upgrade the s-video or rca video in/out?
Are fancy/expensive wires and cables really worth 500 or more each?

All your thoughs are very much appreciated.

Why not give bridging a try before you spend the money on cables. I had the 1066 at one point and bridged it to power my front soundstage. Put the amp through its paces and it never broke a sweat. Sound just as good bridged as it did unbridged. Bi-amp the rears is a waste unless your into SACD or DVD-A.

Agree. However, bi-amping a center channel can produce significant improvement beyond bridging, depending on your speaker. And since the center speaker is probably quite close to your amp, cables to bi-amp can be reasonably priced.

          RMB 1066 in BRIDGED MODE??
          by Jsapp
I am considering purchasing an RMB 1066 to go with my RSX 1055. What I would do is run the 1066 in BRIDGED Mode giving 3 X 150 W for my fron speakers Paradigm Monitor 7, and CC 370. these speakers are 8 ohms and faairly sensative (about 93 db on the 7s) I would let the internal amps on the 1055 run...

          Internal bridging for RB-971
          by Jonesy
Well I've got my used 971 I won off ebay coming (it's in Ohio right now) and I'm wondering if anyone has performed the internal bridging operation descibed in the manual. I've never taken the cover off any of my electronics and while the procedure sounds simple I don't want to screw anything up. Is...

          Bridging a RMB-1066
          by Pez
A friend of mine may buy my 1066 amp if I get the 1077. Before that happens I want to make sure it will work for his application. The 1066 is 6 X 60 wpc and bridgeable to 3 X 150 wpc. He currently has Monitor Audio Silver RS6's (and matching center channel) which are rated as 6 ohm speakers and plans...
