This may be the idiot question of the day, but I was wondering about Bridging. I have the Rotel 1055 and the 1075. Currently the 1075 is powering the main 5 speakers and the 1055 is powering the 2 rears for 7.1.
I was thinking though, that I could get more power in stereo, and overall I suppose, if I bridged the 1075 to power my fronts, and leave my center powered by it, and then use the 1055 to power all 4 surrounds. (and as an aside, would it be possible to bridge my center with both the 1075 AND the 1055 center outputs? Would the power differences damage anything..?)
Is the above possible and would I receive any real benefits from it? I dont listen to 2 channel as much as Id like (4 roommates leaves the HT busy), but when I do Id like to get the most out of it. And of course, I watch movies all the time.
Finally, what would be involved in bridging the amp? Im assuming, for example, Id plug the positive terminal of the speaker into the left-front positive, and the negative terminal into the left-rear negative?
Sorry for stupid questions. But thanks for the help.
