Runnin in a new av receiver

    Hi

Im going to pick up my new Rotel RSX-1067 receiver in a few days & was curious to know if I have to run the receiver in and how do I do it for optimum performance?

    Cheers

are you asking how you should "break-in" your receiver? I was told by my Rotel dealer to run it at moderate or low volumes for about a good 20 hours, before you start cranking it to higher levels. This is what he told me to do with my RMB1075, it should be the same logic for your RSX1067. Good luck.

Ahhhh, the "break-in theory", I usually run it for 48 hours continously, at a moderate volume.

The theory simply states that you should notice a SQ/PQ difference as the components begin to settle.

Although many don't, I belong to the component break-in school of thought.

Even though I'm waiting for my 3rd 1056 to come in, hopefully without the humbuzz, I have noticed with the first two that the sound became a tad mellower after 40 to 60 hours.

Thanks for all the help, I think I will follow the advice from you guys and break it in.

And if it's like with my amp, it will play alot better when warmed up (sounds better after 10-15min and excellent after an hour).

                rsx1067 vs rsp1068/rb993/rb985mkII
                by JRambo
Hi, I recently read in a home-theater magazine that the Rotel rsx1067 was their first choice in the heavy-receiver class.. How will this receiver compare to a setup with rsp1068, rb993 and rb985mkII, when it comes to sound quality, as the price for these two setups will be about the same..

Upgrading from B&K AVR307 to RSX1067 worth it?
                by Dmantis
                Ok,
Let me start out by saying I loved the rsx1065 and the combo of the rsp1066 and rmb1075. I own a B&K avr307 and thinking of coming back to Rotel. The rsx1067 caught my eye as did the rsp1067. Seperates would be the way to go a but the rsx1067 is so good in my opnion that I would consider...

Problem playing 5.1 with AT2 on Rotel RSX1067
                by BW4me
I'm using the optical output from my Apple TV 2 for the audio connection to my RSX1067. I have never been able to get sub audio with 5.1 movies played from netflix or iTunes rentals. The same audio input on my rotel will play 5.1 from DVD or BD player. I can also play 5 channel audio from iTunes library...

                by bullitt731
I am upgrading to the 804s and HTM3s in my front end. To do this I have had to sell my 1080 amp which was paired with my 1056 receiver. I will be buying the new Rotel separates when they come out at some point. I know the 1056 is not enough power to really make these speakers sing but does it have enough...
