    "Midnight" mode on RSX-1056

    Hi,

I have a 1056 and was wondering if there's any sort of "midnight" mode on it. My old Pioneer system had it. It compressed the audio dynamic range so that I could turn down the volume at night and still hear things like dialogue clearly. I flipped through the menus and didn't find anything.

The RSP-1068 does, for dolby digital sources. With the 1050 remote if I press the "dyn" / disc2 button it allows min, mid, and max setting. The RSX-1056 may be the same.

            Preamp choices: RSP1068 or RSX1056 or AVR3805?
            by csuzor
Is the better choice the RSP1068 or RSX1056 for pre-amp duty?

I will add the RMB1066 (in bi-amp mode) or the RMB1075.
I am upgrading from a denon1804 to drive B&W700series in 5channels only (no sub yet)

I have a problem with my new Receiver, Denon AVR 3805. When I play a DVD encoded with Dolby Digital 5.1 (connected to OPT1 input) and try to use the Surround Back speaker I only get PLIIx Music and can't get PLIIx Cinema as an option. Of course SB Channel is set to on.
