    slight problem with my rsx1056

I've had my rsx1056 for a cpl of years now and it just developed a problem. When watching direct tv the receiver will detect if it's dolby dig. like normal and the volume is fine, but when i get like a commercial which comes in as dpLll the volume drops dramatically, then when it goes back to dolby dig. the volume is back as normal.I've had this problem for a about 2-3 weeks now.Everytime this occurs i have to hit the DPLll on the remote to get the volume back.If 1 program i in dolby dig it's fine but as soon a DPLll program comes on the volume drops.Any idea what's happening?

Updated the firmware in the 1056 recently? Might have to do a factory reset.

Is it one certain channel or any Dolby Digital channel on Directv? If it's just on one or your local HD's through Direct, I would suspect something in their transmission.

You should be able to find some DVD's that have stereo PCM (PLII) in the menu and DD on the disc, see if it shows the same difference.

FWIW, it's usually the stereo track that's real loud compared to a DD track. Something that's inherent to the dynamic range DD has.

What firmware are you at just for reference? (hold down mute for 5 or so seconds).

      by rick c
I always thought that the rsx1056 should not be used with 4ohm speakers.Atleast that's what rotel told me a while back when i was inquiring about dynaudio speakers,so i ended up with B&W 603s3's/lcr600(really liked them anyway).Well i have upgraded my speakers to a System Audio setup(sa1750/sa720av/sa505's)these...
