RSP 1098 Software Updates Release Notes
V1.0.0 to V1.1.0 - Allowed a press of the function knob on front panel to power unit on from Standby. - Software relating to the MP3 decoding was changed. - Test Tone level reduced from -23dbfs to -30dbfs per Dolby spec. - Fixed lack of video output error when Progressive=Yes, OSD Output=Screen Only for Display settings.
V1.1.0 to V1.1.1 - Changed the Progressive Yes/No settings to now be assignable to specific video inputs. Composite and S-Video upconversion is available on all video inputs not using the Progressive = Yes setting.
V1.1.1 to V1.1.2 - Modified the German OSD with the following additions of dots: 1. DFLT MODUS => DFLT. MODUS 2. WERKSVOREINSTELL => WERKSVOREINSTELL.
V1.1.2 to V1.1.4 - Changed the default Power setting from Direct to Standby mode. - Corrected a bug where there was no CB output in Dolby or dts when Advanced Speaker settings used. - Corrected some terms for the Italian, German, and French languages.
V1.1.4 to V1.1.6 - Adjusted CB levels for DTS ES Matrix surround mode. - Corrected a bug causing no CB output when in DTS ES Discrete mode. - Improved decoding of Dolby Digital mono soundtracks. - Changed the menu display for Dolby Digital 2Ch per Dolby Requirements: • DD2CH with PLII now displays as "Dolby D + PLII C/M/E" • Dolby 3 Stereo to "Dolby D + 3 Stereo" - New commands for RS232 control added for discrete main and second zone volume and source selection.

Units running v1.xx software cannot install V2.xx software without EPROM Update
V2.0.0 to V2.1.0 - Added Dolby Pro Logic IIx format - Changed contour setting to make any contour adjustments made via the Tone button on the remote a temporary adjustment. This is done by either accessing the DISPLAY OPTIONS menu or pressing the Display button on the front panel and changing the OSD OUTPUT setting to Monitor Only. - The last used 6.1/7.1 surround mode for each format (Dolby Digital, dts) is now saved and used as the default 6.1/7.1 mode each time this format disc is used.
V2.1.3 to V2.1.4 - Added Dolby Pro Logic II Game Mode. - Dolby Pro Logic II Emulation changed to Dolby Pro Logic. - Improved volume speed in both main Zone and Zone 2 via remote control. - Added User Default Password feature. (Note password is set to 0000 by default) - Added Factory Default confirmation screen to the OSD. - Updated 7CH Stereo DSP mode’s center back channel outputs from mono to stereo (requires EPROM flash ROMUpdate4 for this update. If you do not use 7CH stereo this EPROM flash is not required for further updates.) - Minor position adjustments made to some OSD characters.

- Fixed an intermittent problem of units locking into “Standby” mode until the rear panel power toggle was engaged. - Improved digital input sensing and format detection. This improvement fixes any problems with no audio when changing channels with some Scientific Atlanta HD digital cable boxes.
V2.1.7 to V2.1.8 - Corrected an error in V2.1.7 which caused very low center channel output when switching between DD/PLII to PLII modes.
TFT Change required new driver software V3.xx. Units using V3.xx software must install V3.xx software not compatible with V1.xx or V2.xx software. A V3 unit that accidentally has V1.xx or V2.xx installed will have a very dark TFT display.
