    Video glitches with 1098

    Hello

I just recently upgraded from the RSP 1066 to the 1098. I just love the sound quality, however I have been getting a lot of video glitches when I have my satellite to 1080i. It gets very annoying when I'm trying to watch something on high def. Is it just my machine or is this a problem that others are seeing as well. Thank you for any input

I assume all these glitches go away when you rin direct to the TV right?

      Mike-

Welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase. Can you give us a little more information, like whose STB are you using, whether or not you have Progressive set to yes or no, stuff like.

Mike, I have the same problem. I solve it temporarely by setting up the 1098 to display menu only to screen (not TV) and setup "progressive" to NO. That way I can watch HDTV with no problem. BTW, I didn't have that problem with the 1065 nor if I connect the Sat. directly to TV. The problem is with the 1098 software handling HD signals when setup to display menu on TV screen and have "progressive" YES. I hope they will fix it with an upgraded software version.

I'm using a Zenith HD-SAT 520. I just tried putting it on progressive mode and all the video glitches went away . However by doing so, I am no longer able to get any video images on both the TFT and my Mitsubishi big screen when I put it on 480i. I only get the image on the tft and not the big screen, the big screen is just solid blue. Also, is 480i the only mode in which the tft can display a video image? Thank you

            1098 Video Setup Questions
            by skipm
Since this is the first receiver/processor that I've owned with more than 2 component video inputs I wanted to check with the other 1098 owners in the group to make sure I was reading the setup information correctly. You can connect 5 video sources, labeled Video 1 thru 5. You have 4 component video...

            1098 video cutting out
            by Swilliams97
I have a new 1098 with both DVD and Scientific Atlanta cable box connected with Comp cables and using video switching. Time Warner Cable suggested setting cable box for 1080i output only and when the 1098 was set for progressive output I got horizontal lines and distortion at the top of the screen,...

            1098 video upconversion?
            by Steve B
I posted this over at Home Theater Forum, but figured this was a better place. Sorry for the redundancy if any of you follow both forums!

I just hooked up my new 1098 over the weekend. I haven't had any time yet to do any calibration and/or tweaking. I can't really comment on the 1098...

            1098 video setup question
            by jimmyp58
I think I know the answer but just to be sure. I have two Sony M555ES 400 disc CD carousels. I will connect each of them to the 1098 via digital coaxial input. No problem here. The question I have is, each of them has a video out via composite that I currently connect to my HDTV; I wish to connect them...
