    component video

This has been brought uo before, but is still a pet peeve of mine. Supposedly according to Rotel (via my serial number) I have the increased Mhz for passing component video. But if I run something through it (DVD-progressive or my XBox-progressive) the picture looks less sharp. And I mean really less sharp. Night and day difference. Advice, suggestions??

Just checking to make sure you're feeding your components into and out of the Rotel using component cables. If not, somethings fishy. With the 100 Mhz pass through, it should be a comparable picture. I know this is strange, but also check to make sure all cables are securly attached. It has happened to me and others where a cable comes loose and the picture becomes ugly due to the fact that it is only receiving the signal for two of the three signals.

I bought brand new component cables from monster cable, and they were on tight. Thanks for the suggestion though

"NEW" Toshiba 3780 Progressive Scan Dvd Player
        by John Holmes
I've had this player for almost two weeks now. My wife surprised me with it as part of our anniversary celebration. Sorry, I cannot post a picture as Toshiba doesn't even list it on their site. Also, I can't begin to tell you how it performs in progressive mode because, I do not own an HDTV as of yet....

        7100 component video bandwidth
        by CP-Mike
According to the specs, the 7100 has 100 MHz component video bandwidth. What does that mean? Does it have to do with the switching? Is it fast enough to handle 1080i? Can you even do 1080i through component cables?
