ROTEL RSP 985 vs RSP 1066

Hey, this is my first post here.

I have a RMB 1075, and for the moment i use Yamaha RXV1300RDS as processor.I have been thinking of buying 985 or 1066 processor, and for the moment my brain says 985.I can't audition them here in my town.I have read a lot about 1066, but there isn't so much info/reviews on the 985.But on the little info i have read about 985, it seems that some people thinks that the 985 is a little bit better than the 1066.
Have you any comments on that statment? I don't need 6.1,7.1,ex,es.
Will i notice a better sound with the 985 then the rxv1300 that can justify the money difference between these two units?
    I can get a 985 for about $1100 and a 1066 for $1400.
I want the best sound, and as i wrote before, i don't need 6.1,7.1,prl2 etc.

Hope you can help me a little bit!
    Thanks

that's not an easy call if you really don't ever see the need for 6.1 formats. Pro Logic II on the other hand is a nice step up from regular PRo Logic even with 5 speakers so if you watch a fair amound of TV or DVD's with only 2.0 that might be worth the extra money. Is the 985 used or new? Personally I'd get the 1066 to get the newer features and upgradeability.

The 985 is new.I will mostly use it to watch dvd.I have 6.1 now, but im willing to downgrade to get better sound.I dont' hear much difference between 6.1 and 5.1.Pro Logic 2 i never use.Just want good sound. And it's between the 985 and 1066.In that price range.

What are your room dimensions and speakers? I'm a little surprised you don't notice much difference with 6.1 over 5.1 since in my room there's quite a big difference and given the XS processing runs all the time its generating a 6.1 signal for all my surround modes. I guess there's no way to try both is there and see which you prefer?

My room size is about 5m(width)x9m.The speakers im using is a Norwegian brand named Patos. You can say it's inspired by american speaker sound (warm, bass sound)

          Center: 65-23.000 Hz, 6 Ohm, 90 dB, 20-100 Watt, 50 x 31,5 x 17 cm, 9 kg

          Surround: 65-23.000 Hz, 6 Ohm, 88 dB, 10-60 Watt, 18 x 24 x 34 cm, 4,5 kg

          Front: 34-23.000 Hz, 4 Ohm, 91 dB, 30-200 Watt, 28,5 x 39 x 115 cm, 26 kg.

          Sub: 24-50/100 Hz variabel, 250 W RMS, 39,5x42,2x54cm, 35 Kg

I'm really satisfied with the Patos setup. For the price, there is almost nothing that can match this setup.Hifi press here in Norway also agrees.Patos is a very respected brand here in Norway.

          Have you heard 985?

I haven't heard the 985 for a while now which is one reason I'm reluctant to say which one would sound better
