Rotel RSP-1066 strange volume knob behaviour

Since the first day I got RSP-1066 I’ve being dealing with a strange behave. When RSP-1066 is cold, right after turning on the unit, the volume knob presents some resistance to rotation movement and feels like if it has some jumps while rotating.

However, when RSP-1066 is warm, the rotation movement is very smooth and without any discontinuities.

I wonder if this is a typical behaviour or the early announcement that I’ll have to replace it soon?

    Thx

Are you using the remote control, or turning the volume knob by hand?

Mark, I'm turning the volume knob by hand.

        RSP1066 always in 7.1 mode?
        by Scarp
        Hi,

I've got a 7.1 system hooked up to my RSP1066. I've set the front speakers to large because I dont want to use my sub in 2 channel mode. The surrounds and centre are all setup as being small. And I set the number of back speakers to 2.
When I play a Dolby Digital 5.1 encode...

Problem With Volume Knob on 1068
        by Rael
I've owned my 1068 processor for a couple of years now and never had any problems until recently. All of a sudden, the volume knob has a mind of its own. When I go to turn it, it will suddenly jump from 58 down to 35 or even all the way to max! It doesn't matter if I turn it up or down, I never know...

        1068 - A loose volume knob
        by alkalay
        Hey rotelian mates,

Has any of you experienced a loose volume knob on a 1066, 1068, 1098 or any other Rotel's pre, integrated or receiver?

My 1068 exhibits this looseness when turning the knob to one direction and then to the opposite one. First I thought it was normal...

        CAP-100 volume control issue
        by Telstar
I'm having an issue with the volume control.
The volume knob got loose last week and it can be pulled out. The volume control still worked using the remote or the knob itself.

Yesterday, we moved the amplifier on another shelf and since then the volume is fixed to a certain dB,...

RC-1550: left channel has a lower gain than right at low volume.
        by dxL
I sent this message recently to Rotel Support Europe (no answer yet), but it seems interesting to me to post it on this forum too:

Two weeks ago I bought a new Rotel combination consisting the RC-1550 and the RB-1552. I'm very pleased with the overall sound quality, but today I noticed...
