    1068 - A loose volume knob

    Hey rotelian mates,

Has any of you experienced a loose volume knob on a 1066, 1068, 1098 or any other Rotel's pre, integrated or receiver?

My 1068 exhibits this looseness when turning the knob to one direction and then to the opposite one. First I thought it was normal (though annoying), but then I got a black 1068, I originally ordered, and its knob seemed to be fine.

As was mentioned in a previous thread, that silver grows on you, I have experienced the silver to suck me into it, not allowing me to enjoy the black I REALLY used to love so much. And so I have returned the black to happily go back to silver, with its loose knob.

I have come up with a very easy solution for the knob, if someone had the same problem and didn't want to send the unit.

    Itai.

Just wanted to say "Hello" and thanks for all the info I've gleaned so far.

I have a B&O system 5000 and DCM TF-500 speakers (floorstanders), into which hooked my Mitsu 20" monitor, all circa 1986. I've been planning their replacements for a long, looong while....

Problem With Volume Knob on 1068
    by Rael
I've owned my 1068 processor for a couple of years now and never had any problems until recently. All of a sudden, the volume knob has a mind of its own. When I go to turn it, it will suddenly jump from 58 down to 35 or even all the way to max! It doesn't matter if I turn it up or down, I never know...

    Illuminated Volume Knob on 1068?
    by Club1820
Does anyone know if the volume knob on the 1068 is supposed to be illuminated? I noticed that there is a blue ring around the knob and thought maybe it was supposed to light up?

    thanks.

    1068 via analog

Alright, this topic seems to be discussed too often but the upgrade bug is upon me.....I have the pioneer elite 23fd blu-ray connected to my 1068 via analog. In this situation the pioneer handles all the decoding and my 1068 is set to multi-input making it a large volume knob. The sound is excellent...

    RSP-1098 -"Loose" function wheel
    by Twincam
    Hi All

I just got my 1098 and so far I am happy with it. One small thing concerning the build quality though:
The big Function knob/wheel to the left of the screen feels a bit "loose". I am not thinking of that it's very easy to turn/rotate, which is normal I think. It's...
