    Rotel 1050 vs 1060

    Hello All,

    I have a 1050/1067 combo at the moment that I like, but I'm wondering if the upcharge (about 300 US for me here in France) is worth going for the 1060 DVD player instead of the 1050. I'm 70/30 music/movies...

    Any thoughts, comments or suggestions greatly appreciated -

      Hello All,

      Does anyone have experience with the 1060 DVD player? I would appreciate any comments on it's capabilities -

          Hi Lars

          I've got a 1060 and am generally happy with it. I've currently got an issue with being unable to play DVD audios but I've contacted Rotel (and posted on here) so hopefully this will get sorted soon. I've not used a 1050 so can't give you a comparison but I will say that I've been impressed with the audio quality of the 1060 compared to my old Denon 2800II with both movies and, especially, music). Wether it is worth an extra 300 USD over an 1050 is subjective and probably only something you can decide by listening for yourself.

              I'd like to demo it, but my local dealer doesn't stock the 1060; am hoping to get enough of an idea from people on here to decide if it's a good risk

                  I'm considering picking up a Rotel DVD player to be used primarily for DVD-A.
                  Can anyone comment/discern a sound quality difference between the 1050 and 1060?

                  ...has anyone noticed that when playing a CD in the 1050, when the skim left button is pressed, it first jumps ahead about 20 seconds in the song before starting to skim backwards? Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a unit that does NOT do this?
